THEMES OF THE FAIR

Exhibitors and products:

The main theme at the fair is to prevent stress on and wear of the environment during the lifetime of a product or a service.

Invitation to become an exhibitor at the ECOEFFICIENT 2002 Fair is extended to companies, public administration and other organizations to exhibit information, activities, products or services related to measuring and improving eco-efficiency:

1. Minimizing the consumption of natural resources in production, products, services, other activities, and regional planning, and use of materials that consume little material resources during their lifetime (see www.eco-efficient.net: MI factors of materials); also use of recycled materials.

2. Waste prevention and notable decrease of the use of harmful substances.

3. Increasing the efficiency of energy production and use, energy saving devices, processes, and ways of action, and eco-efficient sources of energy: wind and solar power, fuel wood (especially waste wood, chip, pellets), biogas and old hydroelectric power.

4. Minimizing traffic (e.g. local production and marketing, logistic solutions, and regional planning) and ways to travel and transport that consume little material resources during their lifetime (light traffic, public transport, and carpooling).

5. Vegetable based and locally produced food, organic products.

6. Longevity and multistage use of products e.g. development of products that are durable, maintainable, repairable, upgradable, supplementable, reusable, convertible, and multipurpose, or offering of repair, maintenance, and quality improvement services, long guarantee periods, and reuse systems.

7. Joint use, lending, leasing and renting of products instead of selling them.

8. Promotion of eco-efficiency in administration, research, development work, training and education.

9. Influences of eco-efficiency on biodiversity, climate change, wellbeing of the developing countries or macro- and microeconomics and employment.
